Angriff auf den Iran

How do you sleep while the rest of us cry?
How do you dream when a mother has no chance to say goodbye?
How do you walk with your head held high?
Can you even look me in the eye?

I have a friend who is an LSO on a carrier attack group that is planning and staging a strike group deployment into the Gulf of Hormuz. (LSO: Landing Signal Officer- she directs carrier aircraft while landing) She told me we are going to attack Iran. She said that all the Air Operation Planning and Asset Tasking are finished. That means that all the targets have been chosen, prioritized, and tasked to specific aircraft, bases, carriers, missile cruisers and so forth.

Militär-Strategie

The US military attack on Iran will, most certainly, be conducted with air power. The US has neither the available ground forces necessary to invade a large country like Iran, nor the appetite (given the experience of Iraq) to manage its aftermath. In contrast, airpower assets are plentiful and its employment offers a clean, seemingly low cost alternative to a ground invasion.

There are two major problems with deploying airpower. […]

Iran says uranium goal reached

The country’s president says its objective of 3,000 centrifuges is a reality, which would create enough nuclear material for a bomb in a year.

An anonymous investor has placed a bet on an index of Europe’s top 50 stocks falling by a third by the end of September, as world equity markets plunged for a third day and volatility hit a three-year high.

Quelle: Mystery trader bets market will crash by a third

Privatisiert die US Army!

Gemäss der neoliberalen Denkweise würden doch solche Betrugsfälle dann der Vergangenheit angehören:

[…] Charlene Corley and her sister, Darlene Wooten, the owners of a small-parts company called C&D Distributors, shipped three machine screws costing $1.31 each to marines in Habbaniyah in Iraq. They then proceeded to charge the government $455,009 for transportation costs—and got paid.

[…] If only its officials could locate 190,000 assault rifles and handguns distributed during the past few years to Iraqi security forces. The Government Accountability Office reported recently that the weapons seem to have gone missing.

IRAQ FOR SALE: The War Profiteers

Nachtrag

The privatisation of military functions from logistics to maintaining weapons has reached the point that the Pentagon now regards contractors as an integral part of its „total force“. Amercia could not go to war without them.
