Das hängt aber meiner Meinung nach nicht nur mit einer gesünderen Ernährung zusammen, sondern auch, dass die in Woodstock doch alle monströs viel gekifft haben … Kiffen regt zwar den Appetit an, dennoch sind Cannabis-Konsumenten oftmals schlank (vgl. S. 234 von The medicinal uses of cannabis and cannabinoids.

Beauty Products Lose Some Appeal During Recession. According to the NPD Research Group, total sales of department store beauty products are down 7% from year-ago levels. Women are apparently opting for the ’natural look‘ – „some people are selectively replacing higher-priced items with cheaper products from drug stores and discount stores.“

Today, the app used to create a file is not necessarily the one that most users want to open it with; the Creator Code system didn’t offer any simple way for users to modify the creator after the fact, either individually, collectively for a selection of files, or across all files of a given file type. The complexity of what users expect to do (and what kinds of data they are working with) in 2009 is vastly different than it was back in the early 80s when Apple conceptualized the rather simple Type and Creator Codes.

Dieser Creator Code (God?) gehört zu den schlimmsten Sünden des alten Apple.
Aktuelles Beispiel unter Mac OS 10.4.11: Ich öffne eine mit einem Farblaserkopiererscanner gescannte PDF-Datei mit Adobe Acrobat, um OCR darüberlaufen zu lassen. Als dies erledigt ist, speichere ich die Datei ab. Ab sofort öffnet ein Doppelklick das PDF nun im Acrobat, obwohl ich zum Betrachten von PDF-Dateien auf Preview.app schwöre.

Bleibt zu hoffen, dass der Schweizer Franken dann zur Fluchtwährung – und wir somit zu sehr, sehr reichen Leuten werden. Dann kaufe ich mir für den Preis eines rostigen Kleinwagens eine Villa in Beverly Hills.
Übrigens: Es fehlen noch 2 Rappen bis zur Parität!

Frontal21 zeichnet ein treffendes Psychogramm Deutschlands: die grösste Bundestagsfraktion sind die Nichtwähler, die Hälfte der Parteimitglieder sind über 50, sämtliche Parteiprogramme versprechen alles und nichts, Ordnungsämter treiben Jungunternehmen in die Insolvenz, zwischen Hartz IV und Topbanker gibts nix mehr. Gute Wahl, Deutschland!

Trotz erstklassiger Schule braucht es auch die Eltern

„The black parents feel it is their role to move to Shaker Heights, pay the higher taxes so their kids could graduate from Shaker, and that’s where their role stops,“ Ogbu says during an interview at his home in the Oakland hills. „They believe the school system should take care of the rest. They didn’t supervise their children that much. They didn’t make sure their children did their homework. That’s not how other ethnic groups think.“
